Children's Ministry
At Living Word, we value children and their families. We believe it is critical to provide fun, safe and enriching opportunities for children of all ages to meet God and learn His ways. We strive to provide creative, relevant, application-oriented teaching and activities on Sunday mornings and in special events throughout the year.
Our Children's Ministry (birth through 6th grade) is in full swing on Sunday mornings. Preschoolers and elementary-aged children stay with their parents for the worship part of the service and are dismissed to their classes just prior to the pastor's message. The nursery is available throughout the entire Sunday morning service.
Nursery & Preschool
It is our goal to provide infants and toddlers with safe and loving care that frees their parents to focus on God without worry. The nursery is available throughout the Sunday morning service and for other "whole church" services. Parents may take their child to the nursery anytime during a service.
Infant Room
Children are nurtured in a safe, well-staffed environment. Individualized attention is given through simple bible stories with interactive finger play and songs.
Toddler Room
These little ones are on the go and ready for more action. And they get it here through interaction with other children, the caring staff and our "hands-on" approach to learning. They begin with play time and then move into the story room where they get to participate in an interactive bible story lesson and have a snack.
Preschool (3,4, and 5 year olds)
Children in the preschool class stay with their parents for the worship part of the service and are dismissed to their class just prior to the pastor's message.
Children at this age are wiggly, noisy, touchy, feely, curious, animated people. They also possess a marvelous capacity to trust God in practical ways. It is our desire to teach them in a manner that is developmentally appropriate and respectful of them as children. This class includes lots of play and interaction.
kindergarten class
Children in the preschool class stay with their parents for the worship part of the service and are dismissed to their class just prior to the pastor's message.
Children at this age are learning how to learn in a group and they love having their own place to bleong. Their lesson is presented in a variety of age appropriate actitivities, including bible verse memory.
Treasure Bay ~ A spot to play, pray and learn God's way
During this Sunday morning program for elementary-aged children (Kindergarten through 4th grade), we incorporate worship, drama, crafts, games, scripture memory and biblical teaching. Children begin in a large group setting and then are divided into small groups where relationship building is the focus.
My purpose is that they may be
encouraged in heart and united in love
so that they may have the full riches of
complete understanding, in order that they may
know the mystery of God, namely Christ,
in whom are hidden all the
treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

soar
SOAR is a group for 5th and 6th graders that meets on Sunday mornings in their own Eagles' Nest. They focus on lessons that grapple with faith and real-life issues. Plus, they have their very own safe and secure online community to connect with each other and they have activities outside of church on a regular basis.
But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles. Isaiah 40:31
